Despite being a hugely popular tourist destination, there are still several destinations in Bali that remain under the radar. Following are a few examples:

- Caningan Islands: Perfect for beach enthusiasts, the Caningan Islands feature clear water that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, along with a mostly-empty surfing area. These islands are about 12 miles from Bali’s southeast corner.

- Cepaka: Found on the Western side of Bali, Cepaka is roughly 15 minutes away from Canggu. This small village is ripe with Balinese atmosphere and grants visitors a secluded escape from the tourists of Canggu and Tanah Lot, the famous Balinese temple.

- Sideman: A laid-back village, Sideman is located roughly 45 minutes from Ubud near Mount Agung, the highest mountain on the island. Complete with forested hills and rice fields, Sideman is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts thanks to its many hiking trails and dramatic views.
